A hazy horizon

Strange things are happening these days. It looks like I’m about to lose a friend and make a new. The first thing is really, really bad, but the way things look now, I’ve got the impression that she doesn’t feel very comfortable when I’m around and I think it’s only a matter of time before she builds up the courage to tell me just that. It sucks beyond all recognition. The second thing, on the other hand, is good, but unfortunately, this is not an equation that’ll balance, it’ll be negative. Very negative, indeed.

In other news I’ll have to report that I’ve cleaned the entire apartment today. It’s a job I really don’t enjoy doing. The kids - at least the five year old - is constantly running around inside with shoes on, but I really can’t be bothered to tell someone else’s kid how to behave. OK, I live here, but it’s not my job to educate him, unless he is doing something really dumb, like drinking whiskey from his mother’s liquor cabinet or climbing on the roof. I could’ve paid some girl from Estonia $20 to do the job, but that’ll just be a major waste of money. She was here last weekend, doing the cleaning for the land lady, and she did a shitty job. It didn’t really look like she’d done any cleaning at all.

If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

We saw the Norwegian movie Buddy yesterday. The reviews have been fair to good and Ann Kristin, Christian, Ola and Hege thought it was quite good. I can’t say that I agree, I thought it was a predictable mess of worn out clichΓ©s, a movie with a script I probably could’ve slapped together in a weekend myself. In short: I didn’t like the movie. But, hey, almost everybody else say they like it, so it’s probably something wrong with me.
