Finally, it’s happened to me!

Some time between 03:30 and 03:45 last night, I woke up of a loud bang. It sounded like someone had just dropped a huge, massive metal plate outside my apartment building. At first I didn’t think much about it, and tried to go back to sleep. Then I heard one emergency vehicle, then another and then a third. So I decided to take a peek outside my windows to check if I could see what was going on. Behind one of the nearby apartment buildings I could see a cloud of thick smoke rising up, with the familiar yellow-orange glow of a fire lighting it up from below. The smoke came from the direction of the harbour, so I thought that a ship of some kind might have blown up or something.

But it turned out to be something completely different, and less dramatic. A fire had broken out in one of the buildings belonging to the royal castle not very far from where I live. A couple of flowers are still missing, presumed dead.

And what’s the heading of this entry all about? Have I finally managed to become a millionaire? Won the Nobel peace price? No, not exactly. But I’ve finally got a broadband connection at home! Yay! It’s been a while, I can now start doing all the fun stuff I used to do when I had a broadband connection in Trondheim. Like strutting around nekkid with the webcam on.

Now, the problem is that I managed to forget the power cable to my laptop at work today and there is about 10 minutes left of juice on my battery. If you see this, I managed to post before everything went black.
