Today went mostly as expected, I just didn’t play as much Battlefield 2 as I thought I would, because I’ve been rather tired all day. Me and the girl spent most of the night talking and didn’t fall asleep until five in the morning. It was a nice night. I think I’m starting to get a little bit of that good feeling in my stomach when I think of her. This I can tell you because she already knows. I hope I didn’t freak her out too much…
After updating Battlefield with the latest patch, I was able to play single player missions, too. It’s a good thing because then I don’t have to go online to polish my non-existing helicopter skills with Black Hawks full of other players. I’ll probably never get the hang of the helicopter, I guess. Installing the patch was a real PITA, because it failed all the time without any good error messages and it took a while before I figure out why it wouldn’t install. I finally found this at HappyPuppy.com:
If your Battlefield 2 patch fails to install, it is because you don’t have enough hard drive space. I’ve read all sorts of needlessly complicated ways to get a failed patch to install but none of them work. You need to have 2 GB of hard disk space open to install the patch. It must create a massive cache for some reason but it will work if you have the space. It took me awhile to figure this out so hopefully this email will help some of you.
Now I’m off to bed to get ready for yet another week of work… Sigh…
