Monday morning fun

I usually need a slight kick in the head to get started on Mondays. And since I haven’t got that yet, I really haven’t started working on my project this morning. I’ve opened NetBeans, but that’s about as far as I’ve come. And since I’m going to one of my weekly Monday fun-fun-lectures in about half an hour anyway, I thought I might as well entertain you for a while. With a couple of good comic strips!

Bizarro by Dan Piraro

Strikingly unconventional in style and appearance, “Bizarro” is the means by which cartoonist Dan Piraro unleashes both his secret symbols and uniquely eccentric view of the world on unsuspecting newspaper readers every day. Highly praised for its detail-driven artwork and off-the-wall humor, this comic panel has massive appeal among audiences who enjoy alternative humor. Read more about Bizarro by Dan Piraro.

Pondus by Frode Øverli

Pondus is a popular comic strip authored by the up-and-coming Norwegian artist Frode Øverli. The strip runs in more than 40 different newspapers and magazines in six countries and has its monthly magazine in Norway and Sweden. In Norway, home to 4 million people, the Pondus magazine sells close to 50 000 copies each month, making it one of the most popular cartoon magazines in Norway. Unlike Bizarro, Pondus is a comic that grows on you when you get to know the characters. Visit the Pondus archives over at Opera community site.
