Who I am

I’m Vegard Skjefstad, a private individual. My website address is: https://www.vegard.net/. You probably already knew that, because it’s the website you’re looking at right now.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

E-mail

Everything you send me by e-mail to “vegard”, followed by the “at” symbol, care of this domain, will be stored until I delete it, or until you request that I delete it.

Cookies

If you have no idea what a cookie is, please read my short Information About Cookies introduction.

Some features on my site use cookies for security and for your convenience. These cookies are valid for 5 years. All cookies generated on your browser by my site are transferred securely to the server with an encrypted request over the HTTPS protocol.

No personally identifiable information is saved in the cookie, except if you’re logged in to the private A Picture A Day section. In that case, your e-mail address is saved in the cookie to be able to identify you.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC)

The site has opted out of Google’s Federated Learning of Cohorts tracking scheme. Please read EFF’s article “Google’s FLoC is a terrible idea” for more information about FLoC.

Visitor statistics

The site collects accumulated visitor statistics - the total number of views - for each page. No personally identifiably information is stored.

What rights you have over your data

If you have provided this site with any data, you own that data. This means you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you.

Where I send your data

Your data is not sent anywhere.

Contact information

Please consult the contact section on the About page for a long list of possible ways to get in touch with me.

Caution

It looks like you're using Google's Chrome browser, which records everything you do on the internet. Personally identifiable and sensitive information about you is then sold to the highest bidder, making you a part of surveillance capitalism.

The Contra Chrome comic explains why this is bad, and why you should use another browser.
