Rome, Day II

Day two of our trip to Rome ends early as will try to get up with the sun tomorrow to buy a genuine Italian breakfast at a nearby food market. I’m not quite sure what a breakfast like that consist of, we’ll probaly figure that one out tomorrow.

Today we traveled Rome without any real plans. Among the things we saw was Piazza San Pietro, but they didn’t allow us inside the church because the Catholics think Hans Olav dresses like a slut.

We also visited the Colosseum, but for some reason I’m unable to get too excited about it. Sure, it’s an very impressive building and a very important part of history, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a pile of bricks. I think material wealth of any sort is starting to fail to impress me. A guided tour probably would have helped a lot. It could be that we’re going back there.
