Rome, Day IV

I’m lagging a bit behind now, but I guess you’re used to that anyway.

On day IV we decided to leave inner-city Rome and head for one of the beaches on the Italian coast. To get there, we had to take the train, but public transportation in and around Rome is pretty good, so getting there was on sweat. Our ?16 week pass is valid on the buses, trams, the metro and the local trains, which makes it pretty good value and a must-have if you want to get around. Time tables are non-existent in this country, public transportation simply just runs when it runs.

We stayed on the beach most of the day. The crowd mostly consisted of old people and families. Actually, I’ve got the impression that most of Rome’s citizens are old people and families, people our age are few between.
