Shall We Dance?

Shall We Dance?

Quite bored with life and pretty much everything about it, I was sitting in front of the TV checking the channels for something entertaining. It’s incredible how difficult it is to find something entertaining on TV these days - even with 200+ channels to chose from (the main problem is probably that I only understand what they are talking about on 20 of them).

But then I suddenly came across this Japanese movie: ‘Shall We Dance?’. “OK”, I though. “Let’s dance.” And, my God, what a movie. No, I’m not kidding you. This movie is absolutely great! It’s listed as a comedy, but I don’t think I laughed much. But I sat there with huge smile for a total of one hundred and fifteen minutes. The movie made me feel good. It made me want to dance. It made me look at myself in the mirror and think; “I’m a very happy person!”

Short summary: Shohei Sugiyama has attained all that he has wanted in life. But he is not happy. On his way back from work one day, he sees Mai Kishikawa in a window. He instantly fell in love with her. She is one of the teachers in a dance class and he attends the class to get to know her.

I’ll let Robert Moore finish this hasty review:

There are few people anywhere who will not be enthralled by this little film.

‘Nuff said?
