The Beach

The Beach.

After receiving a not-so-secret map to a secluded island from a stoned-out loony, Richard (DiCaprio) sets out to find the hidden paradise with a young French couple. What they find is a tropical commune existing in delicate balance with Thai pot farmers, and before long - as always - there’s trouble in paradise.

First of all, let me say that I think this movie sucks. So why do I give it 2+? I give one point for lovely pictures of Thailand (although you could take a walk down to your local travel agency and get a brochure with the same photos for free), I give it half a point for good looking women in bikinis, half a point for the soundtrack and half a point for the whole idea of the movie, as I see it: Live for the moment and when you get that perfect moment hold on to it as long as you can. But know when to let go of it, or else it will become an obsession and mess you up badly.
