Where are they now?

From time to time, I start wondering where all the people I knew back when I was a kid are now. Take Camilla Bergestig for instance, a girl I had a major crush on for several years during junior high and high school. I know that she got together with some guy a couple of years back, and from what I’ve heard, they were doing good, so I guess they’re still together. But where does she live? What does she look like? And would she notice if I started stalking her again? And what about Svein Olav Larsen, a guy I used to hang with almost daily for many years. Now I have no idea what he is doing or where he lives. Is he still stuck in Notodden? Or has he left to see the world? The questions are many. The answers are few.

But wait! Fear not! Google-man and AlltheWeb.com-dude to the rescue! With the help of these search engines, I was able to discover…er…very little, actually. Camilla has a homepage with a picture, so I know what she looks like now. She hasn’t changed much. That said, I’ve got no idea when this homepage was made, maybe it was yesterday - or maybe it was a few years ago. There is no telling. I also found another page with some information about her, but it wasn’t much to go on there either. Svein Olav has also got a homepage, but it’s what I would call somewhat unfinished. Someone had also made a this-is-my-friends-page with some more info about him. But there is not much to tell from any of the pages I found.

Update 19:10 CET: After a little more surfing around, I was able to find a picture gallery of Svein Olav Larsen pictures. It looks like the man hasn’t changed a wee bit.

While I was doing my quasi-research, another thought hit me. What if people I knew back in the days when I didn’t worry about needing a job and paying my bills are visiting this site? Maybe even regulary? Woah! If any of you do, I’ve got a simple request: Please leave a comment, send an e-mail, let me know you’re alive and breathing. That would’ve been cool.

And now, for something completely different.

I went to see The Matrix Reloaded yesterday. As opposed to most movie critics, I must say I really enjoyed the movie. Sure, it wasn’t as mysterious as the first movie, and the love scenes could have been cut down to, say, 1/10 of their current length, but still. The movie was great! And just as good as the first one, maybe even better at times. The special effects are spectacular, a lot of things about the Matrix, the machines and the humans are explained and Agent Smith is such a good character, he should have his own movie.

One hot tip: Make sure you sit through the end credits. There is a little treat for you at the end, but you have to wait about ten minutes for it. Not that many people know about this one, out of 440 people seeing the movie yesterday, only 7 sat through the end credits. Consider yourself privileged.
